Beta v0.9.25

July 28, 2026

  • Your kitchen now works with no internet. Add the site to your phone's home screen and it opens like a real app, with its own icon and no browser bar, and every recipe you own stays readable with no signal at all: all 1,532 titles, ingredients, directions and nutrition, browsable and filterable. It downloads about half a megabyte in the background the first time, which is smaller than one recipe photo
  • Photos work offline for recipes you've actually opened. Storing every photo would take hundreds of megabytes, so the app keeps the ones you've looked at and re-fetches the rest when you're back on a signal
  • The installed app is named after your site rather than the product, opens straight to your own collection, and its colour follows whichever palette you picked

  • Genuinely low-calorie recipes show their nutrition again. Six recipes were being hidden just for being under 20 calories a serving, even though the numbers were right: your sugar-free jello, taco, ranch and steak seasonings, sugar-free strawberry jam, and honey-lemon gummies. The check now looks at where the number came from instead of how small it is, so a real calculated panel is trusted and a garbled imported label is still hidden

  • You can add and remove a recipe's categories again. Every category now has an x to remove it, and there's an "Add category" box that suggests the ones you already use and accepts brand new names, so a dog food recipe can finally be filed as dog food

  • Filled in prep, cook, and total time on 292 recipes that came in with none. AI reads each recipe's own ingredients and directions, and you can change any of it on the Data checkup page, where there's now a button to do this for future imports
  • Fixed nutrition on 653 recipes whose numbers could not be trusted. Most of their ingredients were not matching the USDA food database, so the calorie totals were far too low. Average confidence went from 0.34 to 0.92, and 644 of them are now above the trust line
  • Fixed a bug where a prep or cook time you edited was dropped on the recipe page while the total still showed
  • New button on the notes page reads all your imported notes, keeps the ones in your own voice, and rewrites the copied ones
  • Photos with text baked into them now have their own review page under Tidy and Enrich

  • Filled in nutrition for recipes the calculator couldn't handle before, because an ingredient's amount (like "2 avocados" or "1 package") couldn't be turned into a weight. We now assume a sensible weight for just those ingredients and calculate the nutrition from real USDA food data, the same source as your other recipes
  • New review page under Tidy & Enrich: see each recipe's calculated numbers and the exact weight assumptions used, then approve the ones that look right, all at once or one by one. Your ingredient lists are never changed, and nothing is added until you approve it

  • Made the photo endpoint lighter (one database lookup per photo instead of two) and spread out the "More recipes" thumbnail loads, so a page full of related photos loads reliably instead of occasionally timing out

  • Fixed wrong nutrition numbers: some imported recipes showed a bogus calorie count with no macros behind it (for example "17 calories" on a batch of donuts), pulled from a mis-read source label. Those are now hidden instead of shown wrong (about 196 recipes). The Nutrition repair tool can recompute them from scratch

  • Recipe pages now lead with the course (the primary category is the course/dish, like Dessert or Dinner, not the cuisine), so the photo label and the "More recipes" both match on that. On the Love & Lemons style, the small category line above the title was removed
  • "More recipes" now shows two rows (8 recipes) on the styles that have that section, four across on Love & Lemons

  • Photo Quality page: under each photo you can now generate a brand-new AI photo or upload your own, right there, in addition to AI upscale
  • Photos are 33% larger on that page, so it's easier to see which really are soft
  • Fixed the ordering: it used to lead with pale, smooth dishes (lemon, cream, frosting) because the sharpness score reads those as low-detail even when they're in focus. It now lists photos smallest-first, since the tiny imported images are the ones actually worth replacing, and mixes the colors instead of front-loading all the yellow and cream ones

  • Every style now has a matching workshop skin, all 24. Whichever look you pick for your recipe site, your signed-in pages (recipe editor, Tidy & Enrich, shopping, and the rest) now wear that same style, fonts and colors and all. No red gingham left unless the default is what you chose

  • A recipe link that points to a recipe you've removed now takes visitors to your recipe site's home page instead of quietly opening a different recipe
  • You can now add your own Notes to any recipe right in the editor. Your note is yours, so it always shows on the recipe (leave it blank to hide it)
  • Importing from Paprika now asks whether to bring your saved recipe notes along. It's off by default, and even when you turn it on, each note stays private until you confirm it's your own writing on the Review notes page

  • Pioneer Woman style: tidied the header. The site name shows once with its flower, the search box and Titles/Ingredients toggle now sit centered under the title, Sign In moved up to the top menu, and the stray newsletter label and subscribe button were removed
  • Fixed a category-filter glitch: a recipe whose categories were cleared in an edit could quietly drop out of the home-page filters (so a soup could vanish from the Soup filter). Cleared categories no longer wipe a recipe's real ones

  • New option when reviewing a note: rewrite it in your own words. If a note is useful but was copied from the source, this keeps every fact (times, temperatures, make-ahead tips) and drops the copied wording, so you can keep the tip without the copyright

  • Copyright care: the short intro (the "dek") that some recipes carried over from their original source is no longer imported or shown, since that's the original author's writing. Any intro you write yourself, or generate with the rewrite tool, still shows
  • Imported recipe notes now stay private until you review them. Many notes were copied from the source site (FAQs, make-ahead tips), so they're hidden from visitors until you confirm each one is your own on the new Review notes page. Keep the ones that are yours, remove the rest

  • Refined the same-day v0.9.2 import privacy: imported recipes are fully visible again; it's the imported photo that stays yours-only. Visitors see a friendly placeholder ("Remind this cook to add one of her own photos...") until you add your own photo or generate one with AI
  • New Family photos page: set a photo password and your family can click "Unlock the photos" on your site to see the imported originals; visitors never do
  • Family photos also lists every recipe currently showing a placeholder, so replacing them is a checklist, not a hunt

  • Imported recipes now start private: a recipe clipped from a link (or a video) stays off your public site until you add your own photo, put the steps in your own words, and hit Publish on the recipe page. Your collection, your words, your photos; the source site's stay theirs
  • The imported photo is never shown publicly while a recipe is private, and private recipes stay out of browse, search, categories, and export for visitors; you still see everything in your own kitchen

  • Duplicate Cleanup: pick how picky the scan is (very picky, balanced, relaxed), and reordered titles like "Instant Pot Keto Crack Chicken" vs "Keto Instant Pot Crack Chicken" are now caught
  • Duplicate Cleanup: build a set yourself; search, check the recipes you think are twins, and the AI compares and merges them
  • Every page now has the site header and footer, so no page leaves you stranded
  • New Data checkup page: finds recipes with missing or implausible course, prep, or total times after bulk import, with inline fixes

  • Pantry: quick-add a comma list, temporarily hide ingredients, up to 100 "cook what you have" matches, recipe cards open in new tabs
  • Shopping: comma-splitting manual add, custom aisles (add, rename, delete), Shop-at-Walmart links, per-store aisle order
  • Serving-count checkups (missing counts and flour-math flags) with one-click accept-all
  • Photo quality triage: blurriest first, black or missing photos in one place, bulk cleanup
  • Timers now visibly confirm when started; notes sit under directions; whole photos above the fold
